We are all looking forward to the 11th World Conference which will soon take place in Bangkok/Thailand. Since we know that some IOI members with limited budgets find it difficult to attend this important event, we have decided to offer financial support to those who need it most. There are two funding options:
The IOI either pays
a) the conference registration fee of USD 1,000 or
b) the airfare – cheapest possible economy class flight to Bangkok.
In exceptional cases the IOI might pay both the registration fee and the airfare.
Since ombudsmen are the main target group of the IOI World Conference, financial support can only be given to incumbents of ombudsman institutions or their deputies. Staff is not included in the programme. If an ombudsman institution fulfills all conditions for IOI support, only one candidate per institution can be considered. Expenses for the registration or the flight will be covered on a reimbursement basis, i.e. ombudsman institutions will receive funds after the event.
To apply for IOI support, please submit the following information to the IOI General Secretariat:
- funding option you are interested in (option a or option b)
- If you apply for option b, please add a quotation for the cheapest possible economy class flight to Bangkok.
- letter of interest which outlines in detail why your institution is not able to cover the flight or registration costs – an overview of the financial situation of your institution will be appreciated.
- CV of the person nominated for participation
The IOI General Secretariat is looking forward to receiving your application as soon as possible, but no later than 23 September 2016.
Should you need any further information or assistance, please do not hesitate to contact the IOI General Secretariat.
