On 19 December 2023, Toronto’s Ombudsman Kwame Addo launched an investigation into the Toronto Police Service’s Vulnerable Persons Registry (VPR) to determine if its communication to the public about the registry is adequate and fair.

Tras la labor de observancia realizada por Oficiales de Derechos Humanos de la Defensoría del Pueblo de manera presencial en las protestas, manifestaciones y cierres en los meses de octubre y noviembre la Institución concluyó que hubo vulneración de los derechos humanos a la seguridad física y personal, a la educación, salud, alimentación, libre tránsito, libertad, ambiente sano, sindicalización, libertad de prensa, expresión, opinión, derecho a manifestarse y a la consulta ciudadana. Dans son Rapport annuel 2022-2023 publié le 7 décembre 2023, le Commissaire aux services en français, Carl Bouchard, demande aux ministères et organismes du gouvernement de l'Ontario de former tout le personnel de première ligne sur la façon dont il doit fournir des services en français et les raisons de le faire. Ils devraient également veiller à ce que leurs comptes de médias sociaux soient en français et en anglais, recommande-t-il aussi.

As part of the celebrations of the 75th Anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the Ombudsman of the Republic of Angola addressed a message to all members of the AOMA and promoted an International Conference, under the theme: “Dignity, Freedom and Justice for all, in the countries of the CPLP”.

On 14 December 2023, the Ombudsman Ms Winnie Chiu announced the completion of a direct investigation into the repairs and maintenance of outdoor recreational and sports facilities under the Leisure and Cultural Services Department.

On Thursday, 14 December 2023, an online meeting of extraordinary significance took place between Dr. Marino Fardelli, President of the National Coordination of Italian Ombudsmen and Ombudsman of the Lazio Region, and Adv. Kholeka Gcaleka, Public Protector of South Africa. Both were recently elected to their respective boards for Europe and Africa within the International Ombudsman Institute.
