I.O.I. welcomes six new members

Several applications for institutional membership have been accepted by the I.O.I. Board of Directors at their last annual meeting in Bermuda. The positive decisions regarding the applications are based on the facts that all of the new institutional members fulfill the criteria for institutional membership set out in the 2009 I.O.I. by-laws, Art. 6.1. This regards the establishment of the institution, its independence, its mandate and powers as well as the requirements regarding the appointment and dismissal of the incumbent. In addition, the information they provided clearly showed that the institution supports the purposes and principles of the I.O.I. as outlined in Art. 3 of the I.O.I. by-laws.

The Protector of Citizens (Serbia), the Ombudsman of Andalusia (Spain), the Ombudsman of Castilla-La Mancha (Spain), the Ombudsman of Rioja (Spain), the Complaints Commission of the Cayman Islands and the Ombudsman Sindh of Pakistan are now institutional members of the I.O.I.
