BackIt is with great pleasure that the IOI has learned about the recent nomination of Ombudswoman Catherine de Bruecker, Federal Ombudsman of Belgium, as one of the European Directors on the “world” Board of the IOI Board of Directors.
Ms de Bruecker has already been a Director of the European “regional” Board since the European Region elected its Board members at the 10th IOI World Conference held in Wellington, New Zealand in November 2012.
The Board of the European Region consists of seven Directors on a regional level (European level). From among these seven Directors five are elected to represent the European Region on the IOI Board of Directors (i.e. on a "world" level). Mr Igli Totozani, People's Advocate of Albania, will succeed Ms De Bruecker as one of the Directors on the European level.
