PAKISTAN/SINDH | Ombudsman orders revenue department for reimbursement of medical charges

A complainant approached Mr. Asad Ashraf Malik, the Provincial Ombudsman of Sindh (Pakistan), stating that the Revenue Department was not reimbursing the medical charges he was entitled to under the rules. According to details he was working as Abdar in Revenue Department and was suffering from cancer, he had to incur a huge amount of Rs.14,00,000/- for his treatment by borrowing money from friends and relatives. But the Department was delaying the reimbursement on one pretext or the other.

To redress the grievance of the complainant Ombudsman Sindh, Mr. Asad Ashraf Malik issued directives to the authorities concerned to initiate enquiry in the matter. As a consequence of the Ombudsman’s timely intervention the scrutiny process was expedited by the agency and all the medical charges were reimbursed by the Revenue Department to the aggrieved complainant.
