Personnel Change within IOI General Secretariat

After three years during which she has contributed significantly to the successful development of the IOI, Ms Christine Stockhammer has resigned from her position as Head of the IOI General Secretariat to take up an appointment as a spokesperson for the City of Vienna. She is followed by Ms Ulrike Grieshofer.

As Head of the Secretariat Ms Stockhammer has played an important role in the transitional process towards a “new” IOI. Once that the Secretariat was relocated to Vienna she has not only successfully set up the infrastructure of the Secretariat, but also managed all daily operations of the Institute and supported the Board in the implementation of major projects, such as a comprehensive IOI reform.  As she contributed significantly to the successful development of the International Ombudsman Institute, the IOI General Secretariat thanks her for rendering such excellent services and wishes all the best for her new professional challenge!

Ms Ulrike Grieshofer follows Ms Stockhammer as Head of the IOI General Secretariat. Ms Grieshofer comes from a legal background: She holds a law degree from the University of Vienna, received a Human Rights Law Diploma with distinction and enrolled at the Stanford Law School as Fulbright scholar in the Stanford Program in International Legal Studies obtaining a Juridical Science Master. In addition to her excellent education, Ms Grieshofer can draw from a vast professional experience gained from her work for the European Parliament, the Austrian Federal Ministry for Foreign Affairs, the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg and, most recently, the Austrian Constitutional Court.

Ms Grieshofer will participate in this year’s world conference in Wellington, New Zealand, which will provide a perfect opportunity for a first meeting with the entire IOI family.
