After a decade as the Ombudsperson, today Raymonde Saint-Germain presented her findings on the occasion of the tabling of the Québec Ombudsman’s 2015-2016 Annual Report in the National Assembly.
“The role of Ombudsperson provides the best possible vantage point for grasping how important government services and access to them is in the lives of citizens.”
Regarding the public service, lengthy wait times ranked first for all substantiated grounds for complaint. In health and social services, deficient service quality was the primary ground for complaints and reports.
As Québec’s Correctional Ombudsman, the Québec Ombudsman provides a portrait of the situation in correctional facilities in its Annual Report, with chronic overcrowding as a backdrop.
