Austrian Ministry for International Affairs grants IOI status as “international institution”
As of 1 January 2022, the International Ombudsman Institute (IOI) holds a status as “International Institution” in accordance with the Austrian Act on Headquarter Locations (Amtssitzgesetz). With this new status, the IOI will be able to increase its presence as an independent, international organization, the voice of Ombudsman institutions around the world and the authoritative body on Ombudsman matters.

Ombudsman of Toronto publishes Annual Report 2021
In his 2021 Annual Report released today, Toronto’s Ombudsman said the City needs to re-dedicate itself to fairness for all its residents. The Ombudsman's Office issued a written request for a clarification regarding a complaint in which a man's civil status has been disposed, and therefore he is no longer registered in the civil registry and according to his identity card, counts as an immigrant who is officially ineligible to apply for Thai citizenship.
