On Monday, 6th March 2023, the House of Representatives unanimously approved the nomination of Judge Joseph Zammit McKeon as Parliamentary Ombudsman.

La institución del Síndic de Greuges ha tenido conocimiento por los medios de comunicación de los hechos ocurridos en el municipio de Sallent, después que dos chicas de doce años se precipitasen desde el balcón de su casa. Una de las chicas murió y la otra resultó gravemente herida.

The Office of South African Military Ombud Lt Gen (Ret) Vusumuzi Masondo held a meeting on the 2nd March 2023 with the Ombudsman of Malawi, Hon Grace Tinkambenji Malera, who was in the country on a study visit and to learn lessons learnt concerning the sectoral ombudsman office.

On 23 February 2023, Human Rights Ombudsman Peter Svetina presented the findings from the Special Report of the Human Rights Ombudsman about the Accessibility of Centres for Social Work for People with Movement and Sensory Impairments at a plenary session of the National Assembly of the Republic of Slovenia.

On 25 February 2023, the Ombudsman of Justice of Angola, the Honorable S.E. Florbela Araújo, granted a courtesy audience to the Ambassador of Cape Verde, S.E. HE Jorge Figueiredo.

 

In its latest annual report, Patient Ombudsman shares complaints data from 2021/22, and reflects on the ways in which the COVID-19 pandemic continues to strain Ontario’s health care system. The report focuses on staffing issues, access to care, and a lack of courtesy and respect.
