Two new Commissioners of the People's Advocate have been elected by the Albanian Parliament and have already started their duties at the largest human rights institution of the country. Ms Olta Aliaj is the Commissioner of the Section for the Protection and Promotion of Children's Rights. Mr Ahmet Prençi is the Commissioner of the NPM. Both Ms Aliaj and Mr Prençi come from prominent careers in the field of justice and human rights in Albanian institutions.

Le classement et l'archivage des documents ont été identifiés dans l'évaluation des besoins comme l'une des priorités de formation requises par les Ombudsman Africains. Pour répondre à ce besoin, le Centre de Recherche sur l'Ombudsman Africain (CROA) a prévu un séminaire en ligne intitulé « Classement et Archivage des documents » pour les Ombudsman Africains et leur personnel, qui se tiendra le mardi 12 juin 2022 (10 :00 AM, GMT+2) via Zoom.

In 2020, the Ombudsman received a complaint from the Faculty of Law of Thammasat University, in relation to the Royal Thai Police Regulation on fingerprinting and record keeping. Pursuant to this regulation, information remains in the criminal record database, even when the prosecutor decides not to press charges.

The International Mediation Congress “An approach to Conflict in the Global Agenda” will be held on July 5, 6 and 7, 2022 in Rosario, Argentina. This event will be relevant across the five continents, with renowned national and international experts participating on a hybrid in-person and remote mode. Simultaneous Spanish and English interpretation will be available.

On 2 May 2022, the Federal Ombudsman published its 2021 Annual Report and presented it to the Chamber of Representatives. The Office opened 8,202 files in 2021, which is a 20 % increase compared to 2019. In 2021, 1 complaint in 5 was still coronavirus related. Complaints about unemployment benefits continued to be rife.

Aujourd’hui, le 16 juin, à l’occasion de la Journée de l’enfant africain, l’AOMF et le Comité des droits de l’enfant appelle les Etats à ratifier le Protocole facultatif à la Convention relative aux droits de l’enfant établissant une procédure de présentation de communications.
