El Instituto Internacional del Ombudsman (International Ombudsman Institute, IOI) va a celebrar los días 16 y 17 de mayo en el Palacio Europa de Vitoria-Gasteiz un encuentro auspiciado por el Ararteko, que ejercerá como anfitrión y organizador, en relación con "La buena gobernanza ambiental: el papel de las instituciones Ombuds en la defensa de los derechos medioambientales".

In a demonstration of her commitment to making the OSCO a supportive work environment, Nicola Williams, the Service Complaints Ombudsman for the Armed Forces signed the Time to Change pledge this afternoon. In doing so, the OSCO has joined the ranks of over 700 employers in England who have signed the pledge. Time to Change is a campaign that aims to change the way we talk and think about mental health in order to remove the stigma and end discrimination.

A student of NED University and some of his colleages approached Mr. Asad Ashraf Malik, Provincial Ombudsman Sindh, stating that although NED University of Engineering & Technology had announced a B.Tech Conversion Programme for students who had completed B.Tech (Pass) in a different field of engineering, entitling them for admission in 3rd year Bachelor of Engineering (B.E), admission was declined to them. The Ombudsman issued directives to the university to enquire and report and to the Vice Chancellor to streamline a procedure of admission in the university so that no student should suffer in the future.

 

El pasado 8 de mayo del 2018 el presidente de la Comisión Nacional de los Derechos Humanos (CNDH), Luis Raúl González Pérez, presentó el informe anual de actividades 2017 de la CNDH ante el poder judicial de la federación. En su discurso, criticó la realidad mexicana en cuanta a la inseguridad, la violencia, la corrupción y la impunidad que se han extendido en todos los ámbitos de la vida nacional y la consiguiente desconfianza en las instituciones públicas por parte de la sociedad. Por lo tanto, aboga por una institucionalidad democrática que se respeta y por el alcance y la vigencia de los derechos humanos y derechos fundamentales de las personas.

Desde la Defensoría de Niñas, Niños y Adolescentes de la Provincia de Santa Fe elaboramos piezas de comunicación dirigidas a adolescentes y jóvenes para promover derechos si: son demorados por personal policial, si son detenidos y alojados en una comisaría o si un amig@ o compañer@ es detenido por fuerzas de seguridad.

The work of the Human Rights Defender in penitentiary institutions is extremely important from the perspective of guaranteeing the human rights. This was highlighted by the Human Rights Defender Arman Tatoyan during the seminar on “International standards on Women Offenders: Rules for the Treatment of Women Prisoners” organized on 14-15 April in Tsaghkadzor.

The annual IOI Board Meeting was held from 1 – 4 May 2018 in Toronto, Canada, paying tribute to the country in which the IOI was established 40 years ago. Paul Dubé, IOI Regional President for North America and Ombudsman of Ontario, and his office generously hosted the event.

Ce lundi 7 mai, le Collège de Médiateurs Pensions Jean Marie Hannesse et Tony Van der Steen ont presenté le rapport annuel d'activité de l'institution en conférence de presse. La structure de ce rapport comprend quatre parties: sur le thème des différents rôles de l'Ombudsman, les données statistiques, le rôle préventif de l'Ombudsman et la liste des adresses de leur partenaires principaux.
