The Victorian Ombudsman has launched an investigation into the Environment Protection Authority’s (EPA) decisions to approve sites to receive spoil from the West Gate Tunnel Project. The investigation follows community concern about where tonnes of spoil from the West Gate Tunnel Project will be located and complaints made to the Ombudsman’s office about the project.

It is with deep sorrow that we inform the international Ombudsman community of the passing of Ms Fatou Nije Jallow, former Ombudsman of the Gambia. The sad event occurred in the early hours of Thursday, 29 July 2021.

El 9 de agosto se celebra el Día Internacional de los Pueblos Indígenas. La agenda del Gobierno debe incluir medidas para revertir las desigualdades que afrontan los pueblos indígenas, acrecentadas por el COVID-19.

The African Ombudsman Research Centre (AORC) in cooperation with the African Ombudsman and Mediators Association (AOMA) organises a webinar on Tuesday, 24 August 2021 (10 AM SA) GMT+2 on Quality Assurance Mechanisms. This webinar will focus on practical quality assurance mechanisms that Ombudsman and their staff can employ with the aim of ensuring that their investigation reports are able to withstand scrutiny.
