"Derechos de la Niñez y Adolescencia" fue el nombre del taller virtual que impartió el Departamento de Educación de la Dirección de Promoción y Educación de la institución del Procurador de los Derechos Humanos al personal de los Centros de Cuidado Infantil de la Secretaría de Bienestar Social de la Presidencia.

The Ombud’s 2023/2024 Annual Report was released by the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly on 9 May 2024. In it, Ombud Colette Langlois highlighted the increased attention ombuds are devoting to fairness issues related to climate change and natural disasters. The Ombud also reported a 45% increase in the number of inquiries to her Office over the previous fiscal year.

On 21 May 2024, the Commonwealth Ombudsman, in his role as the Commonwealth National Preventive Mechanism (NPM), published "Access All Areas: Monitoring Places of Detention 2022-23", a report which makes 12 recommendations to the Department of Home Affairs to ensure systemic improvements to how people are treated in immigration detention.

The 13th IOI world conference started on Wednesday, 15 May 2024 in The Hague. After giving his opening speech, His Majesty the King of the Netherlands revealed together with the future generation three paintings on the theme of the conference: working together for our tomorrow. This was followed by the speech of the keynote speaker, Ian Buruma, with the title: We Are the People: Citizenship, Identity and the Nation-State.
