The Ombudsman Office of Latvia carried out an information campaign against human trafficking. The so-called project “Gards kumosiņš ("Crumpet") was co-sponsored by the IOI.

Following its call for applications for regional subsidies for the membership year 2014/2015, the IOI decided to extend the deadline for applications, allowing member institutions to turn in their applications for regional subsidies until 27 February 2015.

Ombudsman’s staff members participated in a round table where the final report on a survey studying the features and causes of Domestic Violence (DV) against women in Azerbaijan was presented to the corresponding authorities and the public. The representatives of the Ministry of Health, Public Health and Reforms Center of Azerbaijan, the Office of the Ombudsman and the State Committee for Family, Women and Child Issues participated at this event.

In accordance with provisions of the Minor Offences Act, a court may force an offender who fails to pay a fine partially or entirely within the specified time limit to pay said fine by imposing on him or her fine enforcement by imprisonment. The Ombudsman has been concerned about the issue of fine enforcement by imprisonment.

The Irish Ombudsman, Mr. Peter Tyndall, has published the office's second edition of "The Ombudsman's Casebook". The Casebook is a digest of summaries of cases closed by the office in the last quarter.

After seven years of “patchwork” enforcement and widespread confusion about the rules requiring them to hold open meetings, there is good news for Ontario municipalities and the citizens seeking to hold them accountable, Ontario Ombudsman André Marin says in his latest report.

More than a third of NHS investigations regarding allegations of avoidable harm or avoidable death were inadequate and failed to identify when something had gone wrong, according to a review carried out by the Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman.
