Every two years the European Ombudsman holds an Award for Good Administration to recognise some of the exceptional work done by the EU administration. This year, the European Ombudsman decided to look back at some of the winning projects in various categories and to ask those responsible what makes their work special.

The 2nd Italian Edition of the International Ombudsman Conference will be held on 12-13 September 2024, in Cassino (Italy). This event, strongly supported by Marino Fardelli, President of the National Coordination of Italian Civic Defenders and Civic Defender of the Lazio Region, as well as a member of the IOI Europe Board, represents an important opportunity for discussion and exchange of experiences.

For the last five years, an average of 420 pedestrians have died in traffic accidents each year. The Transportation and Procurement Affairs Committee of the Control Yuan (CY) has approved an investigation report and submitted a corrective action case to the Executive Yuan on 9 April 2024.

In a bid to enhance staff capabilities and align with international best practices, the Public Complaints Commission has commenced a nationwide training program for all its staff nationwide. The training, which began on the 13th of May, 2024, saw enthusiastic participation from employees at levels 8 to 15, with staff from all 36 states converging at their respective state offices.

The IACA Board of Governors has appointed Professor Slagjana Taseva of North Macedonia as the new Dean of the International Anti-Corruption Academy (IACA) for a renewable period of four years. She will take up her duties on 1 July 2024.
