La síndica de greuges de Cataluña, Esther Giménez-Salinas ha firmado un convenio de colaboración con la directora general del Casal dels Infants, Rosa Balaguer, con la voluntad de fortalecer la defensa de los derechos de los niños en Cataluña.

En ese tema coincidieron el abogado y profesor de Derecho del Consumidor, Gonzalo Sozzo, y el Defensor del Pueblo, Jorge Henn, al considerar que a través de él se pueden definir políticas y acciones concretas.

IOI President Field had the privilege of meeting the Governor of Sindh, the Honourable Kamran Tessori during his official visit to Pakistan. The Governor discussed matters regarding not only the Ombudsman institution, but also the very positive attitude that the people of the Sindh Province and Pakistan are bringing to recovery from both COVID-19 and the tragic and devastating floods.

On 8 February 2023, the Office of the Ombudsman, within the Office of the State Comptroller and Ombudsman, hosted a peer learning event to mark the publication of its special report on the challenges and goals in providing services for older persons.

The Commonwealth Ombudsman, Mr Iain Anderson, visited the Ombudsman of the Republic of Indonesia (ORI) in Jakarta, Indonesia from 15-16 March 2023. This was the first in-person meeting between the offices since 2020, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

President Field was very pleased to accept the kind invitation of the Honourable Federal Ombudsman of Pakistan and President of the Asian Ombudsman Association, Ejaz Ahmad Qureshi, for a formal working lunch at the Sindh Club in Karachi.

President Field was honoured to be received by the Right Reverend Frederick John, The Bishop of Karachi and Balochistan Diocese, for afternoon tea as well as for visiting the exquisite Holy Trinity Cathedral.
