Ce mercredi 21 mars 2018, à l’invitation du Président de l’AOMF, Marc BERTRAND, Médiateur de la Wallonie et de la Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles, un groupe de travail s’est réuni à Bruxelles, dans les locaux des Médiateurs fédéraux.

La Procuradora del Ciudadano de Puerto Rico, Iris Miriam Ruíz Class, quedó electa presidenta de la Federación Iberoamericana del Ombudsman (FIO) hasta el 2019, en la XXII Asamblea General de dicho organismo.

Toronto Ombudsman released a report on an Enquiry into the City of Toronto Winter Respite Services during the 2017-18 winter season. Ombudsman Susan Opler made 18 recommendations to improve the quality, fairness and communication of these services.

A Control Yuan (CY) joint committee recently issued its investigation report on the Kanjin aboriginal community located on the banks of the Dahan River in Taoyuan County. The community moved to the area several decades ago in search of work, building makeshift homes on the river’s shores. It is located in a flood zone where housing is technically prohibited, so residents have long been denied household registration.

The Commonwealth Ombudsman published its State of the Health Funds Report for 2017. The purpose of this report is to provide consumers with additional information to assist them to make decisions about private health insurance.

The Irish Ombudsman, Mr. Peter Tyndall, has published the first edition of "The Ombudsman's Casebook" for 2018. The Casebook is a digest of summaries of cases closed by the office in the last quarter.

In a special report released on March 21, 2018, the Québec Ombudsman spoke out against the detention conditions of people serving intermittent sentences in Québec correctional facilities. The increase in intermittent sentences has exacerbated the problem of overcrowding in many facilities, especially on Saturdays and Sundays. 

Dans un rapport d’enquête spéciale publié le 21 mars 2018, le Protecteur du citoyen du Québec dénonce les conditions de détention des personnes incarcérées avec une peine discontinue (peine purgée de façon intermittente) dans les établissements de détention québécois. La hausse des peines discontinues amplifie le problème de surpopulation qui affecte plusieurs de ces établissements, particulièrement les samedis et dimanches.
