The Ombudsman, Ms Winnie Chiu, held a press conference on 17 December 2020 to announce the results of two direct investigations, namely "Effectiveness of Joint Office for Investigation of Water Seepage Complaints in Handling Water Seepage Reports" and "Arrangements for Production, Distribution, Stocktaking and Use of CSI Masks".

The timing of the lockdown of North Melbourne and Flemington public housing towers on July 4 was not based on direct health advice and violated Victorian human rights laws, an investigation by the Victorian Ombudsman has found.

The Office of the Veterans Ombudsman (OVO) 2019-2020 Annual Report was tabled on 9 December 2020 in the House of Commons by the Honourable Lawrence MacAulay, Minister of Veterans Affairs and Associate Minister of National Defence. It provides an overview of the OVO’s activities from 1 April 2019 to 31 March 2020.

It is with pleasure that the Ombudsman Office announces the publication of its independent seventh Annual Report 2019/2020. This year the Ombudsman received a total of 890 grievances of which 207 were complaints and 683 were assistance requests.
