On July 9 2015 Mr. Gabriel GUILAVOGUI, IT Director of the Ombudsman of the Republic of Guinea, visited the IOI General Secretariat and the Austrian Ombudsman Board (AOB) .

 

El Valedor do Pobo firmó en Vitoria una declaración institucional en relación á “execrable” vulneración de los derechos humanos que, aún hoy, constituye la violencia de género. Esta comunicación, en la que se incide en especial en la necesidad de que los poderes públicos atiendan las necesidades de los menores que son víctimas de la violencia de género, es consecuencia de un encuentro de trabajo celebrado en Vitoria por parte de la región europea de la Red de Mujeres de la Federación Iberoamericana de Ombudsman  (FIO) de la que forma parte a institución gallega.

Ombudsman Punjab Javed Mahmood, in the light of the orders of Supreme Court of Pakistan, has constituted Ombudsman Jail Inspection Committees for all districts and tehsils of the province. Ombudsman Jail Inspection Committees at district and tehsil level have made first inspection visit of district/tehsil sub-jails and started preparing report on the state of affairs of the jails for onward submission to Supreme Court.

A reprimand for the violation of a teacher's freedom of speech was issued to the headmaster of an upper comprehensive school by Parliamentary Ombudsman Petri Jääskeläinen. He requests the municipality to consider how this violation of freedom of speech could be redressed and how the teacher could be compensated.

On 7 July 2015 Dr. Igli Totozani, People’s Advocate of Albania, took the occasion of a visit at the Austrian Ombudsman Board for talks with IOI Secretary General and Austrian Ombudsman Günther Kräuter.

Prof. Irena Lipowicz, Human Rights Defender of the Republic of Poland, held a meeting with Minister of Justice Mr Borys Budka and met US Special Envoy for Human Rights of LGBT Persons, Mr Randy W. Berry.

An important ruling of the Civil Court in Curacao from June 18, 2015 has fortified the institution of the Ombudsman of Curaçao and gives a guideline for courts when reviewing the actions of the Ombudsman in general.
