The Ad Hoc Committee’s consideration of the Public Services Ombudsperson Bill has been completed and it has published its Report.

 

IOI President John R. Walters and Executive member of ANZOA Colin Naeve, signed a Memorandum of Understanding between the two institutions.

Carolyn Stieber, died on September 12, 2015.  She was the ombudsman at Michigan State University from 1974 to 1991 and a long-time contributor to the international ombudsman community.

The Office of the Ombudsman of Ontario publicly released its submission to the government on the subject of police street checks. The submission was made in August as part of the Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services’ public consultation on the practice often known as “carding.”

The IOI Board of Directors held its annual meeting in Windhoek from 21 to 23 September 2015. The Office of IOI President and Namibia Ombudsman John R. Walters hosted this event and welcomed the members of the Board in Namibia.
