The Victorian Ombudsman has commenced an ‘own motion’ investigation into public transport fare enforcement measures.

The European Region of the IOI held elections to fill the vacant position of the Regional President and of one Member of the Board.

The Ombudsman, Ms Connie Lau, invited members of the public to provide information and views on the management of markets by the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department (FEHD).

On December 23th, 2015, Mr. Sung Yung-hoon took office as the chairman of the Anti-Corruption & Civil Rights Commission of Korea, succeeding Mr. Lee Sungbo who has been a valuable member of the IOI Board and whose term expired on December 10th.

Many older people are afraid to raise the alarm when something goes wrong in their care and worry about what will happen to them if they do, according to a new report published.

 

The Senate of Uzbekistan on May 15 elected Ulugbek Mukhammadiev as ombudsman of Oliy Majlis (...) Ulugbek Mukhammadiev, born in 1971, until now was the Chairman of the Committee on International Affairs and Inter-parliamentary Relations of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan. He is also a member of the Democratic Party of Uzbekistan Milliy Tiklanish (National Revival).

 

 

The Ombudsman’s Office has had a busy and productive year. A defining feature of the reporting period is the work that has been done within the office and with departments and agencies to prepare for the future. Accordingly, the theme of this year’s annual report is ‘looking forward’.

A new era of local government accountability begins January 1 when the Office of the Ontario Ombudsman takes on full oversight of municipalities, Acting Ombudsman Barbara Finlay said when she released the Office’s latest report.
