Desde octubre de 2016 opera el Consejo de Derechos Humanos de la Defensoría del Pueblo de la Ciudad Autónoma de Buenos Aires. El Consejo se presenta como una herramienta que permita optimizar el trabajo de tutela de la Defensoría del Pueblo y que contribuya a asegurar progresivamente la plena vigencia de los derechos humanos de los vecinos de la Ciudad.
