Ombudsman Saskatchewan publishes 2021 Annual Report
Ombudsman and Public Interest Disclosure Commissioner, Mary McFadyen’s 2021 annual reports were tabled in the Saskatchewan Legislature today – the last ones before she retires on May 6, 2022. McFadyen said long-term care was an important theme this year, as it was throughout her time as Ombudsman.

Provincial Ombudsman,Khyber Pakhtunkhwa presented Annual Report 2021
On 22 June 2022, Syed Jamalud Din shah, Provincial Ombudsman, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa presented the Annual Report 2021 before the Hon’ble Governor (Acting), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Like the previous year, 2021 also faced the menace of corona virus resulting in lock down. Despite these hinderances coupled with some other restraining factors, the team worked with zeal and did their best to achieve the set targets.

Resolving complaints by conciliation at the Victorian Ombudsman
The Victorian Ombudsman's recently launched conciliation function offers Victorian public organisations (including local government councils) and complainants an efficient and meaningful alternative in resolving their complaints. The Ombudsman has been very pleased with the initial feedback received, as the office looks to promote conciliation as a valuable resolution tool in the future.

NSW Ombudsman Annual Report and summary of investigations report tabled in Parliament
The NSW Ombudsman’s Office Annual Report: 2021-22 has been tabled in Parliament. The report provides insight to the 24,874 contacts received by the office in the financial year to 30 June 2022. These included 12,363 actionable complaints, which highlight the diversity of issues raised by NSW citizens accessing services from NSW Government agencies, local councils and certain community-service providers.

Federal Ombudsman extends services to merged districts of former tribal agencies
The Federal Ombudsman Office has extended its services to merged districts of former Tribal Agencies and opened its two offices, one in Sadda district Kurrum and another at Wana South Waziristan, to provide speedy relief and justice in those areas.

Comparative study on digitalization of public services and the role of Ombudsman – podcast episode and article now available
The University of Applied Sciences Vienna (FH Campus Wien) has conducted a study on the role of Ombudsman institutions in the context of the growing digitalization of public services worldwide, to which IOI members contributed by filling in an online survey and by participating in interviews. Prof.(FH) Dr. Julia Dahlvik, the researcher behind this study, has now published a first article on her preliminary findings in a scientific journal and also featured in a podcast episode of the "Law in Action" podcast. Alongside bilateral exchanges and a number of meetings with the most senior members of Government, President Field was given the great honour of visiting many of the beautiful regions of Slovenia.
