The Parliamentary Ombudsman, Mr Anthony C. Mifsud together with the Commissioner for Environment and Planning, Perit David Pace have presented a report entitled ‘Access to the countryside – the right to ramble’ to the President of the House of Representatives, the Hon. Angelo Farrugia.

El Síndic de Greuges de Catalunya solicita que se ponga fin a la situación de sobreocupación de los centros de acogimiento que atienden a niños migrados no acompañados. Esta sobreocupación supone un 15% por encima de las plazas contratadas. Recomienda que se incrementen las plazas en centros residenciales de educación intensiva, centros terapéuticos y pisos asistidos para poder dar salida a estos jóvenes y que se debe reducir el tamaño de los centros para mejorar la calidad en la atención.

The honourable Justice Mr. U.C. Maheshwari took oath as Up-Lokayukt (Deputy Ombudsman) of Madhya Pradesh on 28 June 2016. He was administered oath of office by the outgoing Lokayukt Justice P. P.Naolekar.

In June 2016 New Zealand Chief Ombudsman Judge Peter Boshier published his Strategic Intentions for 2016-2020. The new targets of the Office include to eliminate its backlog of aged complaints and to deal with the majority of new complaints (70%) within three months.

The Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights spoke during a meeting on the organisation of the monitoring of the fulfilment of the Action Plan and on the implementation of the National Strategy in the field of human rights, which was organized by the Ombudsman's Office and the Ukrainian Helsinki Union for Human Rights (UHUHR).

The Norwegian Parliamentary Ombudsman published his annual report 2015 and the annual report 2015 for the national preventive mechanism (NPM), a mandate that the Ombudsman has exercised since Norway ratified the OPCAT in 2013.
