    The CCAC co-organized Integrity Week with two Secondary Schools

    In order to further promote integrity awareness among secondary students and foster teenagers’ honesty and righteousness, the Commission against Corruption of Macao (CCAC) co-organized the “Integrity Week” with two Secondary Schools in March. In addition, this year the CCAC launched a seminar entitled “A Talk on Integrity for Secondary School Graduates” to provide practical guidelines on integrity for secondary school graduates.

    FRA launches fundamental rights-based police training manual

    On 3 December 2013, the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA) presents its fundamental rights-based police training manual at the International Conference on Human Rights Education and Training for the Civil and Public Service in Dublin, Ireland. This training manual seeks to help foster a relationship of trust between police and society as a whole by integrating human rights considerations into police training.

    The Bahrain Ombudsman, the first Independent Ombudsman in the Region, presented his second Annual Report. In the period from 1 May 2014 to 30 April 2015, the Office received 908 complaints and requests for assistance. This is an increase of 375% compared with the previous year's total of 242.

    Commonwealth Ombudsman’s inquiry into building and construction industry

    In September 2016, the Senate passed a Bill proposing to re-establish the Australian Building and Construction Commissioner and to continue the existence of the body known as the Office of the Fair Work Building Industry Inspectorate under the name of the Australian Building and Construction Commission (ABCC). The Bill proposes a potentially broadened scope for the Ombudsman’s reviews of the exercise of coercive powers to gather information.
