Discussion paper on Integration published by the National Ombudsman of the Netherlands

The discussion paper on integration written by the Office of the National Ombudsman of the Netherlands is now available for download.

Dublin Declaration adopted by IOI General Assembly
The Dublin Declaration sets out the contribution Ombudsman organisations will make to the UN Agenda 2030, especially the prerequisite of leaving ‘no one behind’ and ensuring that all persons can fulfil their potential in equality. The declaration commits to working towards achieving equality of access to vaccination, urging vaccines to be treated as a global public good to be made available equally around the globe.

Recommendations by Ombudsman Sindh on issue of girls education
On the initiative of Provincial Ombudsman Sindh, Pakistan, Mr. Ajaz Ali Khan, Sindh Education Foundation (SEF) has conducted a research study on the issues of girls education in Sindh, which was sponsored by the International Ombudsman Institute within its regional subsidies programme. The Honourable Chief Minister Sindh inaugurated the launching ceremony on 21 October, 2021.

On 3 December 2021, the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, elections were held at the annual meeting of the European Network of the Human Rights Institutions (ENNHRI), and the Latvian Ombudsman was elected to the GANHRI Working Group on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.

Public Defender of Georgia Becomes Member of IOI Board of Directors
We are pleased to announce that on November 15, 2021, the Public Defender of Georgia, for the first time in the history of the Public Defender’s Office, has started fulfilling the duties of a member of the Board of Directors of the International Ombudsman Institute (IOI). The Public Defender’s Office will represent the European region in the Board. The Office was elected a member of the European region in 2019. The Board of Directors oversees the organization's activities and makes decisions about its future activities.
