Ombudsman welcomes enhanced ability to oversee children in care system
Chief Ombudsman Peter Boshier welcomes the enhanced children in care oversight role for his Office. The Act passed its Third Reading in Parliament in August and it will come into effect on 1 July 2023. The Act gives the Chief Ombudsman a greater ability to consider complaints and monitor and investigate systemic issues in this area.

Illegal business of acid and nickel polish in residential area removed on the intervention of the Provincial Ombudsman Sindh
A complaint was filed against illegal business of acid & nickel polish by some private persons in residential compound without any NOC/License of the relevant agency. The home based unit was operating with huge quantity of chemicals and the used material was drained through sewerage system of the area creating environmental hazard for the residents.

Anahit Manasyan elected as new Human Rights Defender of Armenia
On 12 April 2023, Ms. Anahit Manasyan was elected as the new Human Rights Defender of Armenia by the RA National Assembly for a term of six years. She started performing her duties on 13 April 2023, in accordance with the RA Constitution and the Constitutional Law on the Human Rights Defender.
